How one FM Talent employee turned a hotel shift into a heartfelt journey of connection.
This RAK 2025 story comes to us from Charlotte Green, an FM Talent employee whose warm heart and willingness to help turned a routine workday into a life-changing memory, for both her and a stranger in need.
While working a weekend shift as a guest agent at a hotel, Charlotte encountered an elderly woman who had traveled by bus from her hometown to Dallas for a critical hospital appointment. With her return transportation unexpectedly falling through, the woman’s only option was an expensive Uber ride, costing more than $300.
Charlotte’s manager initially planned to help, but a family funeral made that impossible. Without hesitation, Charlotte stepped up and offered to personally drive the woman home.
“It was only an hour from where I live,” Charlotte shared.
“I bought her lunch, and we had the most delightful conversation on the way.”
The gesture wasn’t just about saving someone from a financial burden, it was a moment of companionship, dignity, and sincere human connection. Charlotte not only ensured the woman’s safe return but also stayed in touch, calling afterward, at the woman’s request, to let her know she’d made it home safely.
Why It Matters
This isn’t just a story of transportation. It’s a story of trust, kindness, and the power of being present for someone else.
Charlotte reminded us that a Random Act of Kindness doesn’t have to be grand, it just has to be real. A listening ear, a shared meal, a safe ride, sometimes that’s all it takes to make someone feel seen, valued, and cared for.
