and paying it forward.
As part of our RAK 2025 Blog Series, this next story brings us into a space where kindness flows from both sides of the chair, the stylist and our FM Talent employee, Dorothy Warner. It's a reminder that sometimes, the people who give the most are the ones who need it just as much.
Several years ago, Dorothy’s hairstylist made a life-altering decision, she left an abusive marriage and began the long, difficult process of rebuilding her life from the ground up.
Now, years later, she’s found peace and love in a supportive and healthy relationship, living in a small rural town. She juggles three part-time jobs to make ends meet, and while her income qualifies her for Medicaid, that hasn’t changed the heart behind her work.
“She keeps her rates low because she has several elderly clients who would not be able to pay more.”
She continues to serve her community with grace and compassion, especially those who might otherwise be overlooked. So, when our FM Talent employee sat in her chair for their most recent appointment, they decided to turn their Random Act of Kindness into a larger-than-usual tip, a small act that spoke volumes.
Why It Matters
This RAK reminds us that quiet strength deserves loud recognition.
That generosity begets generosity, and that sometimes, the kindest thing we can do is to recognize those who consistently show up for others, even when no one’s watching.
By paying it forward, this act of kindness did more than just add a few dollars to a tip, it added affirmation, support, and a little light to someone who gives so much of herself every day.
