🤝 A Weekend of Giving in Valdez

How one FM Talent employee turned her RAK into a family tradition of service.

There’s something deeply powerful about combining generosity, community, and family, and Nikki Duhamel reminded us just how meaningful that can be.

This year, for her Random Act of Kindness, Nikki and her daughter rolled up their sleeves and volunteered at the Valdez Food Bank, a small but mighty organization serving families in rural Alaska with food and emergency financial assistance.

“My daughter and I had so much fun doing the RAK initiative together last year that she joined me once again this year,” Nikki shared.

On Saturday, they jumped in by sorting donation boxes, stocking shelves, and even hauling in pallets of canned salmon from the local cannery.
And that was just the beginning.

They returned on Sunday to help with pickup and distribution, assisting individuals and families as they loaded up their vehicles with essential food items. It was a weekend full of connection, laughter, effort, and genuine impact.

Kindness, Passed On

What makes Nikki’s story so special isn’t just the act of volunteering—it’s the shared experience with her daughter, the bond created through giving, and the decision to make Random Acts of Kindness a family tradition.

To witness kindness, to model it for the next generation, and to link arms with others in your community? That’s the spirit of RAK 2025.

A Reminder for Us All

You don’t have to go far to make a difference. You just have to show up.

Whether it’s a few hours of time, a thoughtful gesture, or a team effort like Nikki’s, your impact is real, and it matters.
