💛 RAK in Action: Laundry Quarters, Lasting Impact

In the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’” It’s a question that FM Talent’s very own Rickey Lawrence has taken to heart, and answered with compassion, creativity, and community spirit.

Inspired by a fellow FM Talent team member and moved by the needs he saw around him, Rickey turned his $20 Random Acts of Kindness gift into quarters, lots of them. But these weren’t just coins, they were clean clothes, fresh starts, and moments of relief for hardworking families in the Atlanta area.

“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’”

~ Dr. Martin Luther King Jr

Rickey shared, “I wanted to do something that would help people in a practical and immediate way. There are families in my community, especially within the Hispanic population, who are facing difficult times. Something as simple as laundry quarters can take a burden off parents trying to keep their families going with dignity.”

Rickey, who shares a hometown with Dr. King, reflected on the significance of serving others and how small gestures can carry big meaning. With the help of his family, they began quietly leaving laundry quarters at laundromats in underserved neighborhoods, giving families a simple but meaningful lift.

What makes this even more inspiring? Rickey and his family are committed to continuing this kindness beyond the campaign. They’ve turned a single act into an ongoing mission, proof that the smallest acts of generosity ripple outward.

We are honored to feature Rickey’s story as part of our RAK 2025 Blog Series. His words and actions are a reminder that no act of kindness is ever too small, and that sometimes, the most impactful change begins with a single quarter and a whole lot of heart.

Thank you, Rickey, for living out FM Talent’s values in such a meaningful and heartfelt way.

🧺✨ Stay tuned for more inspiring stories from across the FM Talent family, and don’t forget to share your own RAK moments with us. Together, we’re spreading kindness far and wide.
